SERCAL is the hub of inter/action in California’s habitat restoration industry

Just a reminder: Last year, we moved from calendar-year memberships to annual memberships. So your membership now runs for a full year from the date you join or renew.
Are you a member but you’re not sure when you need to renew? No worries — we’ll send you a little reminder when your renewal month comes around.
This year we moved to a new membership platform, Zeffy, which charges no processing fees, so that 100% of your membership dues and donations are now going to SERCAL. You have the option to “tip” Zeffy for this service, but rest assured, you will not be paying the processing fees yourself.
We’ve broken memberships into two categories — Individual (including Next Gen, SERCAL+CNGA, and Sustaining) and Organizational (NPOs and Sustaining).
If you are (or have been) an Annual Sponsor (Sequoia, Valley Oak, and Arroyo Willow), we will reach out to you in mid-September to create a custom membership/sponsorship that works best for you. And of course, please reach out to julie@sercal.org if you can’t wait to discuss opportunities for 2027!

The networking potential is phenomenal at our annual CONFERENCE which brings together a diverse group of talents, thinkers, and leaders together for Restoration’s Finest Annual Gathering. For 2027, we’re heading back to the University of Redlands (SoCal) — Mon 17 May (fieldtrips) through Tue-Wed 18-19 May — SAVE THOSE DATES! Check out our Call for Abstracts (released mid-September) and get your abstract in before the final deadline. Registration begins in early December. SERCAL members receive discounted registration rates for the conference as well as for any other events which we hold throughout the year.
Members receive our biannual NEWS JOURNAL, Ecesis, with timely, interesting articles written by colleagues in the field — print copies of Ecesis are available to members upon request for a small fee.
Our commitment is as strong as ever to The Next Generation (students and emerging professionals from under-represented communities) — we offer membership free of charge, and no- to low-cost registrations for those who present or volunteer at the conference, and are securing funding to provide in-person stipends (applications will be available this Fall) to those who apply for assistance with their conference registration, travel, and/or lodging.
We continue to augment our Mentorship program to provide meaningful connections between Mentors and Mentees.
