From fieldtrips on April 21, to keynotes, panels, and presentations April 22-23, SERCAL's annual conference is the place to gather and explore our options, challenges, and opportunities for creating a more resilient California. Our collective efforts are essential for learning, moving forward, and bringing about positive change — no matter the scope of our work, no matter the challenges we face.

We invite you to share your hard-won answers, the mistakes along the way, and the problems you have yet to solve at SERCAL’s 2025 Annual Conference in Sacramento.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

April 22-23 will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento. During the day we'll have a mix of hour-long keynotes, panels, and session blocks, with plenty of time in between for breaks to absorb it all or for networking. This is our conference hotel with lodging discounts, and we'll serve up breakfast, lunch, snacks, and evening receptions.

There will be 4-5 hour-long blocks per day and, except for keynote presentations, they will be broken into three concurrent sessions. Session blocks are either a 60-minute panel OR three 15-minute presentations with 15 minutes at the end for Q&A. The Poster Session Reception will be held the first evening (April 22).

NOTE ON ABSTRACTS:

Get your abstract in on time (January 15) because there are a limited number of slots. Abstracts not chosen for oral presentation will have the opportunity to present a poster.

When you write your abstract, please develop up to three key words (or very short phrases) to help us place your abstract with like-minded and/or like-themed presentations. Learn more about writing an abstract here or go directly to our Abstract Submittal form.

REGISTRATION BEGINS in early december

Early bird discount registrations will be available December thru Mid-February (date TBA). In addition, discounts are given to Presenters and Members. We will be posting stipend applications by mid-January. Our discounted hotel block of rooms will be available at some point in late February. As always, watch this website and your inbox for details.
